Stott Carpentry & Joinery Ltd

Having worked for Stott's Halifax branch, I can vouch for their competency with large joinery projects they have completed on behalf of construction giants such as Carillion. Phil Carter - Regional Director - and his team are a great set of lads who know their stuff and get the job done. As a site supervisor, I could see first-hand the commitment of the site joiners who worked with speed and efficiency in equal measure. The Contract Managers were also good guys. I enjoyed reporting to them as we had a sound working relationship and I still keep in touch with them to this day.

Whilst I can't vouch for the London side of things, or Harrow to be more precise, I'm sure they are also a fine team of managers and tradesman.

Should you be on the lookout for a new joinery contractor then give Stott's a call and ask them for a quote. They cover most of the UK and take on jobs ranging from small shop-fits to multi-million-pound sites for the MOD.

Why Employ Me?

Construction is in my blood, it's what I do best and a building site is where I feel most at home in the workplace. Today it dawned on me that since I've taken the step up into management and left the tools behind, there hasn't been one single day that I didn't want to go to work. I've enjoyed every moment. In contrast, when I was a joiner I hated not so much going to work, but just knowing that I was capable of much more.

It's easy with hindsight, but looking back now I wish I'd made the leap much sooner. This I put down to a lack of confidence and belief in my ability. Now when I look around at work and see how many senior figures there are just coasting through their careers, not even trying, or so it seems, I feel much better about myself.

So why employ me then? Well, you can always ask one of my referees for an unbiased opinion, but it would surprise me if they weren't positive about me. In fact, it would be a real shock as I always try and be a good employee. There are a few reasons for this although to be succinct, I'm basically a nice person with good old-fashioned values like manners, honesty and pride in my work. However, from a personal point of view, doing everything to the best of my ability is very important. Being a perfectionist isn't easy, though. In fact, it's a losing battle because nothing is without fault and this is something I've learned to live with rather than drive myself mad over half a millimetre.
